Scaenid
The kingdom of Scaenid, founded on the ruins of the ancient capital of the Varran Empire, is the undisputed center of Varszi culture, religion, art, and literature. It includes a large portion of the Forest of Eyes inhabited by wild elves, the rest of which is governed by Getari. Scaerean rule also extends to many small semi-autonomous provinces and city states, most of which are situated along the kingdom's borders.

Below are the features your character gains after you choose the Scaerean heritage. Heritage is a mechanic specific to the Varris setting.

You can speak Scaerean and either Common or Sylvan.
Background features
Your character's heritage can double as their background. If you choose the "Scaere" background, instead of a base game background like Noble, Criminal, etc, you gain the following features:
Skill Proficiencies: Perception, Performance.
Tool Proficiencies: One musical instrument or set of artisan's tools of your choice.
Equipment: A set of fine clothes sewn according to the latest fashion, a small codex of hymns, poetry, or legends, one musical instrument or set of artisan's tools that you are proficient with, and a pouch containing 5d4 GP.
Feature: Tales of Old. You were raised on heroic ballads and legends of the Archfey's miracles. You have advantage on Intelligence checks made to recall legends originating from Varszi kingdoms.
Ruleset: Bludgeon
Your Heritage determines your character's first language and additional skill competency options. Your character can learn languages beyond their first one, as explained in the language checks rules. Check the player primer for a list of available Heritages.

Your first language is Scaerean.
Additional skills
When you select the Scaere heritage for your character, you choose one of the skills below to gain a +1 competency in. This is in addition to the skill competencies you would normally gain.
- Formal Etiquette – This skill is from the base Bludgeon rulebook.
- Fashion –You have extensive knowledge of all the latest trends in art, music, and style of dress, as well as some of the outdated styles that preceded them.
- Politics (Scaenid) – This skill is from the base Bludgeon rulebook.
- Vocal talents – This skill is from the base Bludgeon rulebook.
